Muong Hoa Valley
Starting as a small stream
of water from the foot of Silver Waterfall about 14 Km northwest of Sapa
town, weaving its way along mountains’ feet southeast between the two
mountain ranges. About eight kilometers southeast of Sapa town, the two
mountain ranges open wider to form the Muong Hoa Valley which get wider
and wider as it goes further south about 30 km. The Muong Hoa valley is
famous for breathtaking scenery and is the largest farmland for rice
growing in Sapa district.

Muong Hoa Valley: Probably be the most beautiful valley in the region,
Muong Hoa Valley lies between two high ranges of mountains running in
parallel southeast of Sapa town. From the highest elevation of the
mountain range covered by endless forests, rain water follows dozens of
streams downhill to the floor forming the Muong Hoa River which
peacefully flows through the valley, weaving itself along foots of
mountains. Here in this valley, the H’mong, Zao, Zay minority people,
has been working on the slopping land and living their own ways for
hundreds years.
Departing
from Sapa, you will enjoy an easy walk downhill and along Muong Hoa
River for a 4 to 5 hours, through terraced fields passing some hamlets
of the H’mong people such as Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai…, watching locals at
work, paying visit to local homes for a fantastic discovery of their
living ways.
